The Place That's Never Been Wounded

#SongsOfComfort

Both Andy and I are learning junkies. Our morning ritual consists of naming what we are grateful for, then tossing open questions to each other—ones that would rather be wondered with rather than answered. They are like bubbles, floating above the churn and turmoil of the daily news. Today, after listening to people on the television debate about masking, vaccinations, Afghanistan, , I mused, “Wherever there’s an argument that divides us I think the question underneath it all is not who is right and who is wrong, but rather what needs to be learned? Andy reached for my hand, suggesting, “What do you want to be free from?” I reached back and wondered “What do you want to be free to?”

It’s a horrible everything time when so many are being torn apart in unpredicted ways. We dig down into the decades of healing, creativity and connection we’ve uncovered with others.  In this fertile earth, we discover a place that has never been wounded, a place that wonders and yearns and, above all, a place that learns us forward.
